It seems you could apply the same thought process to Joe Biden and our southern border. If Pass-the Buck Biden and his border czarina never go to the border then the border crisis does not exist and the border is secure.

It takes caring leaders to make the media and these elites realize that over 2 million illegal border crossers a year is a crisis.
The elites on Martha’s Vineyard figured it out once their noses were rubbed in it.
The mayors of New York, DC and Chicago figured it out once they had to actually deal with a very small fraction of the crisis when illegal aliens started showing up on their doorsteps.

Maybe Gavin Newsom will get his wish for someone, anyone to come back to California for his type of over-taxed, mandated and restricted “Freedom” through an Arizona or Texas bussing program?

Can anyone explain why SCCLD only serves less than half the county? Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and San Jose all have their own libraries. This causes administrative bloat. Whey can’t they all combine with the County system?

By “Santa Clara County Library,” I assume the article references specifically the 8 Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) libraries (Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos [main], Los Altos [Woodland branch] Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and Saratoga) and bookmobile services.

All SCCLD libraries except Campbell Express (a temporary location) are now open 7 days a week. The bookmobile circulates throughout the County Monday through Friday.

Anyone, no matter their city of residence, can apply for and receive a library card for SCCLD libraries and online resources. If your city library isn’t open when you want to visit or doesn’t have the resources or programming you seek, checkout a nearby SCCLD library or sccld.org to see if you can find what you need.

If you are discouraged by government shenanigans or perceived malfeasance, visit an SCCLD library, attend a library commission meeting, or attend a SCCLD Joint Powers Authority Board meeting (https://sccld.org/jpa/) to cheer yourself that government can and does do good and necessary work. Or volunteer with a library friends organization.

The Santa Clara County Library District is well run and Santa Clara County residents are lucky to have access to its varied materials, online resources, programs, and services.

Most funded, great! But also pretty much shut-down the last few years – which makes ZERO sense. Hopefully they still aren’t forcing people to wear masks in the libraries.
