I don’t know what it is with prosecutors, they always seem to have this mindset that if you are a defendant in front of me, you are already presumed guilty and you should have zero rights and need to be locked up forever, period.

All these people who face drug charges… The only reason that’s happening is because the government mistakenly listens to people who say drugs should be handled as a criminal matter, not a medical matter. That’s early twentieth century thinking, and there are a lot of people out there that are afraid of change. They’re called social conservatives and usually identify as repubs.
