The female officer, who has not been identified, was seriously wounded in Wednesday's shooting, when a single bullet struck her in the abdomen below her bulletproof vest, causing serious injury to her intestine, colon, liver and gall bladder, and fracturing her spine, according to District Attorney Jeff Rosen.

No Charges in Fatal Police Shooting of Redwood City Man in 2022

The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office announced this week that five officers who shot and killed a domestic violence suspect in Redwood City in November will not be charged in the case. Abran Gutierrez, 36, died in the shooting on Nov. 15 on El Camino Real, a main thoroughfare in the city, near the intersection with Maple Street, police and prosecutors said.
