The San Jose Police Department social media pages will showcase violent crime cases displaying suspects that have been identified but outstanding.

The Santa Clara District Attorney has asked the court to change death sentences of 15 men to life in prison, saying capital punishment in an unfair and ineffective deterrent.

Santa Clara Police Department officers arrived in the area of the Feb. 20 fatal shooting, and arrested the suspect as he walked on the sidewalk of White Oak Lane.

Santa Clara police identified the man in the apartment where the boy’s body was found as Sergio Colin Gomez. They said he resisted arrest and after a brief struggle, was taken into custody at the scene of the homicide.

Santa Clara police found Liren Chen, 27, spattered with blood, in his home, with his wife’s body nearby.

The body of Jami Narvaez, 35, of Modesto, was found on Oct. 9 along Mt. Pleasant Road in an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County.

Police said street gang members were arrested for attempted murder, armed robberies, assaults, possession of firearms and possession of narcotics, according to a press release.

This is the second time Holland has been charged with Marowki’s murder. Santa Clara prosecutors were forced to drop the case in 2015 when a judge legally separated it from the slaying of 17-year-old Cynthia Munoz. Both women were murdered in 1983.

Search warrants were served and police arrested Laronna Larkins, 42, of Merced; Mayra Gonzalez, 33, of Newark; and Daberka Thompson, 40, of San Jose, on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.
